what is the proper way to store ammo for long periods of time ?

I like the surplus ammo cans. It's kinda what they are designed for. They stack pretty well and are tough. If you have used ones, just make sure the seal is still in good shape. If you want to get really trick, through in a packet of desiccant to limit corrosion. Don't forget the label. I got bulk ammo thrown into cans but I really like ammo on stripper clips in bandoliers. Don't touch the brass...leave in factory box and vacuum seal 6 boxes with a bag of desiccant. Should stay usable for 40 years.
