If you buy a Wilson Combat barrel, do I need to buy a Wilson Combat bolt carrier? Does the brands of the two parts need to be the same? Does price matter for Bolt Carriers?

The bolt carrier group is two main parts, the bolt and the carrier. Bolts are pretty critical, and IMHO I would recommend only a quality bolt made from the specified 158 Carpenter Steel. From bravo company, Daniel Defense, Palmetto State, and many others. The question is does the bolt need to be HP/MPI. It is actually better if it is not, as HP is for High Pressure Proof testing and MPI is the magnetic particle check after the bolt is fired with the over charged 70000 psi proof round. Quality bolt last longer without this test. In the old days it was recommended to weed out poor quality control, but in today's manufacturing environment it is no longer necessary.
Carrier is not a critical part, all it really needs is chrome lining in side and in the gas key.
So to summarize, any quality bolt group will be appropriate. Palmetto state has the best prices, but the wait is long.
